the urge to spend through me zings
and sings
its sirenesque longing
for t-shirts and undergarments
thronging
and tangling
among my intentions
to be good
save money
not splurge when it beckons
and beguiles
stuff fluttering and flashing its wiles
"you know you really want to"
it will smile
whilst I nibble my nails and try to deny
but really ... its true
what can i do?
but fish out my battered burdened credit card
and wait for the eftpos machine to ping
its happy "approved" message acknowledging
i am the owner of another useless thing
