Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

expectations

Emily Reeve

I have a nice smile
or so I'm told.
But always by old men
with no intentions
that are honorable.

I guess I'm supposed
to be flattered
and I am. But only
because young men
tend to ask for too much.

Their expectations are
too unreasonable,
their hearts too inconstant,
their libidos tend to be
smaller than their egos.

So I'll take the empty
compliments from the old men.
I'll smile and be friendly
and wait for one of them
to pull out their wallet and take me around the world.
