Will Sanchez
i'm feeling good
my mother told me i'm should
go outside and
drive the lawnmower
she told me to take a class on poetry
you're too bad to be good
almost making the mark
but failing worse than
someone who can't write
like all those folks in the magazines
trying to do something
but make no sense to anyone
but themselves
my grandfather watches his tv
he's always on fox news
trying to prove to only himself
that he's american
when he was born in Bolivia
see mom
i can wrote
i see a lonely spaceman
sweeping up after me
in the convenience store
and feel bad for neil armstrong
cause he's out of a job
and no one cares
since we already did it
nine times
nine lives
my cat was on its last
when my neighbor found her
dead on her patio
brought her over
when i was mowing
i cried and died a little
i want to be smart
and some have told me
college is the answer
and some graduates say
college is a waste
who should i believe
im kind of intelligent anyway
you just have to find your voice
my sister told me
she's graduated from college
i'm just in the eleventh grade
besides
neil armstrong is out of a job
and spacemen are now janitors
what kind of world wants
someone who can't write poems
