Will Sanchez
bottle rockets on july 4th
all the kids screaming in the street
soda in plastic bottles
baseball games
american flag mashing and unwrenkling
in the wind
bbq and the smell of ribs
pings of metal bats in the distance
echoing into the neighborhood
the small crowds cheering
esctatic
someplace where i loved you
much like how i used to love you
that is where i wish to go
i'm going back to college
im going to find a woman
make money
fill a house in need of occupancy
and live the life i desire
have a few children
maybe a pool
and relax in the pleasatness
of middle age
and care little for the outside world
only about my bourgeois life
because i spent my youth caring
too much in fact
i drove myself mad
no pill helped
i helped myself
even while i was relaxed
i would still care more than so many
others who wished for you to think they
cared or cared not at all
i'm sure they voted for McCain
or didn't vote at all
'cause it's fixed, maaan
and dream up wretched Americas
in their sleep with their artificial lives
