Why Does She?
Jamie Chen
Anyone who believes in rebirth.
Will know of suffering and mirth.
In my previous lifetime I had both.
Remembering there was no oath.
Memories of yesterday come flooding back.
Of a wonderful soul and I, how we laughed!
But the shadow of it still gives off pain.
Of a girl that is, her, I have never taint.
Why would I do such a thing to her.
To hurt somebody that way is of dirt.
I tell you, I saw her, here in this present.
The present life right now, it is God sent.
How do I know this? It is not being psychic.
Souls whom were lovers! They simply connect.
Does not care where they meet in the world.
They just feel, true or false, warm or cold.
Did she not tell me, that place in time?
In the forest camp, of romantic rhymes.
Songs that we sang, created from ecstacy.
Us, soaking in elysium, we were once free.
So why does she, in the present, only elude?
Why does she, from me, herself she secludes?
Can she not, forgive a man, whom still falls for?
She, the pretty one. My soul, apart it she tore.
