Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

Viceroy False-King

Eva Gray

Purple moths
the colour of violets
rustle on my tongue
with a dust flavor

it clambers into my mouth for refuge
a moist
dark niche
in which to rest
as it drifts into pathetic sleep
I lay my teeth on the back wing

of the dusty purple moth
in a benevolent maternal gesture

then I grind my incisors
and taste it's abdomen burst

sweet nectar
granules of violet flavored sugar

delightful

I feel the moth's thorax
wriggling alive
not having expected me to hurt it

I press it to the roof of my mouth
chalky and juicy
the moth dissolves

delicious

purple moths taste like violet sugar
yellow butterflies taste like tomme de nena
cabbage moths taste like mint
monarchs taste like bile, and so do viceroys
