Unreachable
Robert Hawkins
I talk to you with my mind.
Knowing the words will never reach you.
So much beauty contained on the in an out of you.
I with this paralyzed tongue.
Only dream of such a pinnacle.
Of actually holding you near.
But your love is for another.
Wishing for for whispered words that would thrill.
Bring on spontaneous tears.
What I feel for you is so strong.
I'm afraid you'll see.
For I know you don't love me.
So hard to hide what I hold inside.
Like a lightning bolt across a pitch black sky.
Overwhelming.
Could fill oceans.
Span the void between stars.
Yet you still fill leave no room in me.
But your unreachable.
So,so far.
Its hard to see you don't realize.
The impact you are.
Emotional responses you evoke in me.
Yet its not me you love.
I do have my way of reaching you.
In nocturnal sweeps.
My bird of sleep.
With flights so fancy so fine.
For they herald your capture every time.
The ecstasy of holding you near.
Is the euphoria I hold dear.
Dawns raising ends this flight.
Saddened you can't empathize my plight.
When next I feel the tightness in my chest.
Knowing you are near.
Dream.
When this lifelong journey through at last.
You will be mine in sweet dreams.
That ever last.
