The War Against Us
Good Poet
An armed policeman asked for my ID
For no apparent reason, nor explained.
As I for one did not wish to be shot,
I held my drivers' license to his face.
He looked at me with palpale distain
And told me that "your card's not good enough.
I need to see your passport please, young man."
And that's when things started to get rough.
"I shall not be dictated in this way," I said.
"I do no see what I have done wrong.
You asked me who I was and sought my proof,
and I provided you with it, you mong.
"This is a fucking disgrace", I continued,
Now riled to the point of distraction.
"How dare you fascists assume me a liar -
I demand your apology and correction."
The cop again asked that I show him my passport,
to which I defiantly confirmed "I shan't."
He looked at me and sighed, and finally said
"Then stop trying to get on the ferry, you cunt."
