The Void Entropy Society
Robert Hawkins
A knock on my door,
Elicited my usual response.
Come on in Jubal.
How the hell you know it was me?
Because the dogs didn't react,
As if there was a steak on the front porch.
Damn, Bobby whats the matter with you?
Not me, Jubal the dogs just think you stink.
How the heck would they know?
Your whole place stinks.
Doesn't it matter to you?
Ah, Jubal the keyword again,
Matter.
Have a sit anywhere,
No,don't move the pizza cartons or the other stuff.
You will find that matter tends to compress,
Even under your ass.
Bobby, what in blazes are you talking about?
Jubal, I am a member of the Void Entropy Society.
The what society?
The Void Entropy Society.
Well, since I am its only member,
I will give you my definition.
Everything all matter is ephemeral, degrading.
To a universal inert state.
Bobby, did you say something?
It sounded like your dogs,
Have gas.
