Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

The Song of Mermaid and Mermen

Joel Le Blanc

I saw him last night
sitting naked
on top of the bank
beneath the lady moon
(or perhaps the moon
is a lad? )

The man had a long
hard fiddle
in his hands
that he was playing.

I thought about
shouting something
to the musical naked man,
but thought better of it.

Some people enjoy bearing
themselves, and playing
their music
to the night, while
others, like myself,
want to sleep.

Perhaps in playing
with his fiddle
the man would
lull down the moon
from its midnight perch
so then they could dance
and drink and argue
and love
just like normal people.
