Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

The Hedgehog

Jeremy Abrahams

It came
That night as I put the cat out
There it was
Snuffling across the lawn
A brown smudge getting closer and closer
Such captivation, beauty
To be found in a urban setting
I wanted to call out
To share this with someone
But to do so would be to scare it away
So I kept it to myself
Selfishly,
My secret
Just me, the hedgehog, and the stars
All of us in this wonderful trance
Such unexpected pleasure
From a prickly little being
And a dark starry night
