Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

The Architect

Julie Teglovic

Drink! They say.
Drink, and Know.

This cup?
This here cup?
You minstrels know not whose cup runneth over, here

Sip, sip the chicory root
Ladled from the cauldron!
You, the Uninitiated, here
Blue flowers become your eyes.

Here Time is ladled, cup by cup, into the white china cups with the blue flowers.

Visit the hall of framed Tygers.
See Kyoko navigate the maze of framed flowers in her tiny shoes.

No I say no!
For they’ll stare at my putty features
Grab my nose and pull it
Pullin, pulling, as it yields like taffy
Down the road into the city
Pulling still, wrapping the nose around all the spires of the city

Julie Teglovic has published since joining on 30/11/99. Read more of Julie's terrible poetry at the anthology. Here are three of Julie's latest works:
