Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

Ten Minutes

Mister Clean

Dogmatic, emphatic, obtuse, and robust
A single look from you turns my dreams into dust
Fledging thought taking seed in the ground
Don't kid me again, it wasn't that profound

Airy twirling in a carnival of light
Cave dwellers shade their eyes from the sight
Of aurora blasting the northern sky
A question? A query? Conjecture? Reply?

Where is the link, and how shall I span
Leaden progress over shifting sand
To drastic gestalt, the grandiose flourish
And where is the fire, and how do we nourish?

Simply surrender quilts carefully woven
From threads of gratitude reluctantly given
This won't be the time, nor will I remain
To celebrate hollow victories proclaimed

Under the ground, molten currents flow
And spilling out, spewing, nightime glow
Til frozen in its path, turned back on itself
The lightning bottle collects dust on a shelf
