Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

Tale of a Night Watch Man

Daniella Princess of Doom

Tired night man
Sings the blues
Carries burdens
Reads the news
Baby sister dead in sin
Two bad daughters
Rope him in
They want money
Catch the smoke
Friend’s a cop
Stops by to joke
“Why’d that happen to ya Stan?
Were you not a praying man?”
Folds up paper
Straightens coat
Walks two blocks
To docks and boats
Drinks a bottle
Drinks two more
Ain’t no mind if his
Wife’s a whore
“Ain’t no heaven!
Ain’t no hell!”
Cries with sobbing
Eyes heavy swell
“Ain’t no heaven
Ain’t no hell. All
We have is what
We tell.”
