Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

Sounding Her Barbaric yAWP

Bruce Nagorin

I’m only a robot
and out of date too.
She is a Serious Writer.
I hoped to find out
what she wanted to do.
I never intended
to slight her.

“Are you going to go
to the writer Convention
that people call A-W-P?”
“Of course not,” she sniped,
“What a silly invention!”
“I’d rather brew
Psyllium Tea!”

Instead what she’d done
was get all of her friends,
the folks who would
make her feel fine.
Turned on her computer
and spoke to the lens
And shared of herself,
boldly on-line.

“But what will you call it,
this virtual rave,
this Ethernet,
WiFi Big-Top?”
Listen, my children,
for the answer she gave:
I proclaim it
The Barbaric yAWP!

Bruce Nagorin has published since joining on 30/11/99. Read more of Bruce's terrible poetry at the anthology. Here are three of Bruce's latest works:
