Screamin' at Sunscreen

Emily Boldt

Sticky, wet and white, I really hate sunscreen
Putting it on makes me really want to scream.
Thanks mom and dad, I am super pale
If I don’t use it, I feel like a whale.
Puffy and out of place
It is hard to keep pace.
Every vacation it never fails for me to burn
I’m the family outcast a patch of grass among a fern.
Despite my struggle with the sun
I am quite the beach bum.
Spending hours outside a day
Without sunscreen I lay.
