STRANGERS STRANGER THAN YOUR FACE

You didn't always have fields of blue grass for eyes.
You didn't always look at me like I had an ogre's glint.
You didn't always take your time with hugs
You didn't always smile in my direction.
You didn't always ignore my calls.
You didn't always pretend my tears weren't there.
