Reason No. 2 Why This Won't Work

we broke, dear.
like the bowl of cereal you dropped two weeks ago,
full of milk
and
toasted o's
and
a spoon.
the milk ran into the carpet,
picking up
dog hair and dirt
as it went,
and the toasted o's stuck to everything
and pulled apart
when you
tried
to pick them up,
and the bowl shattered into 22 pieces and odd fragments.
we still haven't found the spoon.
