Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

Very Bad Archive

Only An Instant

Robert Hawkins

Away infinite sleep.
I still deny final sleep.
Shadows, fleeting glimpses,
Pass before my fading eyes.
I feel your presence,
My love at my side.

Yet never have I seen your face so clearly.
Etched with love.
Why from its beginning,
Does life have to fade?
Your hand in mine,
Able to squeeze.
Sending the message of love.
I still convey.

That you chose to love me.
Love immortal, essence eternal.

I fear the unknown my love.

Your head on my breast.
See your tears.
Refusing to accept,
That I have gone away.
I see now my love,
Death is not an end.
But a portal we all go through.
And begin anew.
Part of my love the essence,
I leave with you.
I wait.

note:
you must think I'm stuck in sappy gear.
Hey, I think your rat trap just went off.
While your up your drier,
the lint trap needs to be cleaned.
Jeeese, why I bother with people who don't keep their lint trap clean.
