One Year Wise
Robert Hawkins
Its amazing the energy.
The pleasure derived from simple things.
When your one year wise.
Flinging butter,
Watching it slide down the wall.
Is an immeasureable treat.
Stalking a fly against a window pane.
Neat.
The first taste of dirt,
From face to shirt.
So on to your next delight.
Playing in the water splashing about.
Reaching as far as possible,
Down from the toilet seat.
From a high chair,
All the goo food,
That can be generously smeared about.
Seemingly to defy physics.
Contemplating new discoveries.
While pulling out all the trash.
Holding doggies tongue,
To stop doggie from licking
all your snot.
Hording your snot,
Comes natural to anyone,
One year wise.
