On Given Clue
Robert Hawkins
Where is God?
Or am I addressing correctly?
Jehovah, Buddha, Allah,
Whatever.
Pick a name you got zealots for each.
If any of them have an IQ of 85 I'd be surprised.
But vehement to the last.
OK, earth the sky our sun.
Those are give me's.
That someone is throwing this party.
What, whom, why,
And where do we go from here.
Is our energy in metamorphosis?
Are we forgotten misathropes?
Destined to be the sum,
Of our component parts?
Since you won't clue me in.
I guess I'm living right,
Just the way I am.
Try an stay on the crest,
On what you seem not to see.
Greed, corruption an the rest,
Of those defects you didn't bother to correct.
Or take out.
Maybe its looking another way.
It is a big place.
While we are at it.
Why give us thought?
And a zillion languages.
The consiousness you do give us.
You yank the rug out.
"Presto" You got no life.
Hey, "Oh" omnipotent one,
Take a chance,
No ones looking.
Clue us in

note: dedicated to those of us who don't have a damn clue.
