Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

On Encountering a Terrestrial Flatworm

Matt Jasper

Stray worm,
The plinth of labor’s brow
Is furrowed by your spry retort—
The half I halved
With my fair spade
Is crawling South
While you head North
Expanded by my thoughtless act
To two from one—a birth of sorts
Exhorted from the cells themselves
As tears extracted from remorse
Flow down my cheeks I pray epithelial
Skin is risen to this task—
To build for one a brand new head,
To grow its twin an ass.
