Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

Not Enough Time in the Day for Me Not to Use a Cliche

Michael Reed

If my lifespan were limitless
I'd abolish my cliches...
Instead of pretty penny
I'd say
attractive meaningless coinage of zinc and copper.

If my blood flowed forever,
I'd use anti-cliches:
audibly vocalize the generic description of satan
rather than
speak of the devil.

If I had endless time,
I'd offer handy homespun advice to the less experienced:
conduct a careful visual examination of the surrounding area prior to exposing yourself to a potentially hazardous situation involving the abrupt movement of your lower extremities
if I meant
look before you leap.

Michael Reed has published 2 more terrible poems since joining on 25/5/07. Read more of Michael's terrible poetry at the anthology. Here are three of Michael's latest works:
