Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

Neverland

Claudia Skipper

I went down the alley
I sat upon the street
Not a minute or two later
A fine man did I meet

He told me of a river
In a far away distant land
He told me of a pirate
Who had a hook for a hand

I questioned him politely
With a smile on my face
Because what's a man to do
When he meets someone from outer space

He looked at me and said
"Sir, you are not going crazy
I don't really know you,
But you don't seem all that lazy"

He invited me to fly
To his far away and distant land
He told me all I had to do
Was hold on tightly to his hand

I've been here ever since
That night in mid July
And ever since then
I've been up in this sky

There are clouds and waterfalls
Birds, and butterflies, too
But just remember this, my friends-
We can probably see you

So if you ever meet a fine man
Like the one that I've described,
Give him the time of day-
Just don't look him in his eye
