Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

MY COFFIN HAS TWO WINDOWS

Shirley Gothen

My coffin has two windows
The one you watch me
through with that smile
that tells me you don't think
about my heart. It's still
behind you, you know.
The other has smudges
that look like my parents
Foreign, brown
with the stink of arguments
I purposely ignored. I
purposely bled for you
and for my sisters
in the abortion clinics.
It's cold in this coffin.
The dirt is too thin,
like the blankets of my youth,
and it doesn't get any warmer
six feet under.
