DeVrie Heeves

Walking sideways, sideways,
always walking sideways,

warm summer night, 1970,
on North Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues

bereft of his mezmerizer,
no compass to tell him which way the wind shines,

drinking Romilar again,
probably not good for him,

he don't give a shit at all,
you know what they always say?
