In Which We Find A Litter Of Bunnies In Our Coneflower Plants
Ceejay Writer
One little bunny
Soaked by the hose
Looked a little funny
Wiggling his nose.
Ken caught the wayward fuzzbutt
And took it to the trees
We didn’t want the little nut
Eating our sweetpeas.
(this verse is a disclaimer
Because I lied – a crime!
This garden has no sweetpeas
But I needed a good rhyme)
Then lo! Bun Two and then Bun Three
Came leaping from the flowers
CJ’s garden hose, you see
Had given them both showers.
“We’ve got a nest”
CJ surmised.
“I’m sure they’re stressed”
Ken rolled his eyes.
We got out the great big pail,
And set three furballs inside
An ickle wickle bunny jail
In which they could take a ride
One more was apprehended
And taken to his new abode
This was going splendid!
One left! But it went to invisible mode.
The final tally came to six
Though only five were caught
One stinker knew his hidey tricks
And catch him, we could not.
And now my tale comes to an end
Five bunnies are safe in the trees
With luck, bun-six will comprehend
And join them with some ease.
