Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

Ill Choose Love

Frequent Phil

I will eat when my belly is empty
I will drink when my mouth is dry
I will speak, if given a voice
I'll choose love, if given the choice

Well, I'm drivin' down on Main Street on Friday afternoon
Hangin' out my window and leering at the girls
'Cause a picture's worth a thousand words to a heart unwanted and a voice unheard
Lift me up
Fill my cup

I will sleep when my body is weary
But more often, it's a fitful night
When the fever cloaks me like a trenchcoat
You'll be framed and hung in my gallery of delight

Well, I'm drivin' down on Main Street on Friday afternoon
Hangin' out my window and leering at the girls
'Cause a picture's worth a thousand words to a heart unwanted and a voice unheard
Lift me up
Fill my cup

I will eat when my belly is empty
I will drink when my mouth is dry
I will speak, if given a voice
I'll choose love, if given the choice
I'll choose love, love, love, if given the choice
