Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

If I Never Wake

Jean Hall

What should I do if I never wake
the last breath of air I take
will be the one letting you know
that if I had a choice, I'd never let you go

but this isn't my last breath of air
so don't go acting like you care
our love was nothing, after all
you picked me up to watch me fall

This bitter heart of mine
was loved, at one time
you were my everything
my reason to keep breathing

but you went and ruined this,
this love, a well known bliss
but our love was nothing, after all
you picked me up to watch me fall

The bond between us two
was rare, shared by far to few
it was amazing, a precious treasure
but was quickly removed by too much pressure

you took my words, only for you
and used them, now they're gone, used and untrue
yes, our love was nothing after all
you picked me up to watch me fall

What would you do if I never woke
would you use the words you spoke
the words you used to let me know
that if you had a choice, you'd never let me go

but this isn't the last time I'll ever wake
it's not the last breath of air I'll take
you pick me up to watch me fall
'Cause our "love" was nothing after all.
