Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

Golden Years

Fiona Ian

The next four years
Could be the golden moments
The next four years
Could be the golden moments
For those who pursue their dreams

Yet the next four years
Could be a disaster
Yet the next four years
Could be a disaster
For those who squander
Their life away

Whether innocence blossomed into maturity,
It all depends on your prior eighteen years
Whether innocence blossomed into maturity,
It all depends on your prior eighteen years
For the golden moments
To nurture into ripeness

Or bitterness evolved into ignorance
Making life harder than it should be
Or bitterness evolved into ignorance
Making life harder than it should be
Opening up to the unthinkable crimes
Violating either your conduct or others’

However the next four years become
Remember the past
However the next four years become
Remember the past
For the past builds you up
Or tear you down for the future
