Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

For an Athiest

Huma Munir

I open my window to the morning sky,
Stare at the grey clouds flying by,
The sun hidden beneath the layers,
Shines through like a dodging player,
I stroll the sidewalks in the noon,
Hear the swaying trees sing a tune,
The flapping wings of birds I see,
Colorful and so bright and glee,
The twinkling eyes of the little one,
As he eats a cute little honey bun,
In a restaurant where people come and go,
I sit and observe the lovers and foe,
An unsaid message lurks in her eyes,
For you to decipher and improvise,
The love so strong, she starts to cry,
Until you come and hold her high,
I see him working, drenched in sweat,
So I can sleep and stay at rest,
If love is anything real as claimed,
I see it in the roughness of my father’s hands,
The night was cold and shivered my bones,
She sat beside me and heard my moans,
If you want to see what love tastes like,
Just look at your mother and that will suffice,
I watch the night take over the sky,
And thank my Lord with His praises high,
The rhythm of my heart firmly beats,
The God I searched for is surely sweet.
