Very Bad Archive

Flakes on my Fingers

Rieda Von Munster

Like a cheap gilded veneer,
it rubbed away,
flecked in my hair,
got in my eyes and made them water,
made me sneeze, and cough,
a misery cloud of dust,
my childhood innocence,
the magic of thrift store dresses,
a shared order of fries from McDonald's,
key chains with my name emblazoned across in black,
quarters for a bed well made,
plastic shoes and so much glitter,
seems to be getting the best of me now.
