Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

Feasting on Fraternity

Marie Burnett

once upon a time
i lived inside this poem
it was dark outside
and i was afraid
until i felt
the familiar
touch
the rich
texture
the radiant
warmth
of words
i took these words
made them my own
wrapped around me
like a cape
the words
swirled
the words
spun me
like a top
atop the words
i whispered, "shelter"
and i was inside
with a bed
a chair
a desk
soon
sooner than
one could imagine
i was sitting down
sipping iambic pentameter
gobbling guttural stops
gormandizing gratitudinously
and then
how i feasted
wow, how i feasted
when i began feasting upon
fraternity
