Faster
Robert Hawkins
Winter then spring the seasons do rhymically.
Through my life flow.
The ever redundant profusion
ever changing color's.
Of life always moving forward.
Faster.
Once young then old life continually to unfold.
Seeing your children grow up.
Watching their ambitions unfurl.
Faster.
Patience is a virtue but not
An easy to learn skill.
For many the time I wished.
It was the end of another work day.
Wished it were Friday, April
or May.
And it went by oh so quickly.
Faster.
I was wishing my life away.
What was accepted taken for granted.
For you had the devine assurances of youth.
Became precious moments of time fleeting away.
Faster.
Leaving your reflections of life and the ardent wish.
To live them all again.
Only yesterday teaching my children to walk.
To learn from what life manifests for them.
Then all to soon I find I'm learning from them.
Oh so much.
Faster.
