Fast Food Restaurant Drive-up Window Attendant
Michael Reed
Behind reflecting Plexiglas, colored lights shine resplendent,
stands the fast food restaurant drive-up window attendant.
Through mic-boom mounted headset, though you won't comprehend it,
speaking over modulated gibberish the fast food restaurant drive-up window attendant.
With sharp jolts of hunger, your stomach snarls, now dependent
on the listening skills of the fast food restaurant drive-up window attendant.
With wrinkled uniform on which grease shines like a platinum pendant;
a stain of valor spattered on the fast food restaurant drive-up window attendant.
Through tiny bi-fold doors they transact payment as your weakened hands extend it,
monetarily trustworthy fast food restaurant drive-up window attendant.
Your condiments and entree bagged precisely as they intend it,
bestowing sustenance, the fast food restaurant drive-up window attendant.
As french fry fragrance caresses your olfactory, your mind now transcendent,
you give thanks to the ever-vigilant...
fast food restaurant...
drive-up window...
attendant.
