Is this what it feels like?
This unbearable feeling deep down
Piercing me like a thousand daggers
Digging deep into my heart and into my mind
Why do we suffer this kind of pain?
Why suffer? Why hurt?
Why go on feeling it?
Is this the cost of living
This seemingly never-ending train wreck
It doesn't stop
Doesn't fade or ebb away
It stays stagnant until....
until something else hurts you
Magnifying it tenfold each time
digging deeper and deeper into you
without shame or abandon
Until you either give up
give up and fall into it's cold, dark embrace
Or fight back
fight back
even when knowing that
the pain we fight is always
eternal.
