Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

Dog Day

Robert Hawkins

Happened upon.
A man in Texas.
Beating his dog,
With big stick.

Whoa! There mister,
What for are you,
Beating that dog?

I'm trying to get his attention,
So he will mind me.
Whereupon his beating,
Of the dog resumed.

I walk away,
Under the shade,
Of a Hackberry tree.
I spied what I need,
A dead limb the right size.

As I approched the man,
He paused long enough,
To ask if I want a swing?

Rest assured that I do.
I couldn't have had a better swing.
Nice solid contact,
With the back of the mans head.
I did ask on his way down.
Did it work?
Did I get your attention?

Sir? Am I to infer,
From your lack of response.
This exibition a faliure.
You don't mind,
If I take your dog.

note: I have a bottle in front of me, won't need the
prefrontalobotmy.
But it was kind of you to offer to assist.
Thanks some other time. Sis
