Distant Thunder
I feel it rolling, coming around
Like an omen of future situations to come
I succumb to the powers and the beings above
I get shoved turned and twisted. Is it ever enough?
Do I control the rains? Or is just a Facade?
Can I manage the pain? Am I a victim to God?
Am I to forecast the weather or narrate the story?
Believe in forever? Or search for the glory?
Day by day? Or year by year?
Tear by tear, dripping down my face in despair
With the fear...of what awaits me here and now
Be myself? What is me? What am I?
Whenever I try to become someone, it's a lie.
Lightning's born, but cannot confrom to the sky
So it is thrown to the ground and expected to die
Not expected to climb, or to surge to the top
While the light may burn out the electrons don't stop
Like the thoughts ever-bouncing off the walls in my head
Like the uncertainty between my birth and my death.
Till my last breath
