Bittersweet End

Kelsey Boyce

Death is not a consequence,
it is an end to pain
to beautiful letdowns
fears and doubts
to lovers and friends
Death is inviting,
a warm embrace from a long disconnected friend
the ending of disease and strife
the lull into peace and obscurity
Death encroaches your every thought
finds you at your weakest moment
stalking the streets of the plagued bound city
