Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

Back and Forth

Amri Jaesal

Night after night,
Week after week,
Year after year,
We do not sleep.
We are not at peace.
We pace
Constantly
Along a linoleum floor,
Pondering what could have been.
Back and forth.
The mournful clacks
Of boots we never took off
And set by the front door
Alert only the light sleepers to
Our presence.
The others dream on, oblivious.
The wise say ignorance is bliss,
And our friends will never know
Our secret heartbreak,
Our secret turmoil within us.
They will never know,
Because ignorance is bliss.
They will never hear us pacing,
When we should be sleeping.
Back and forth,
Back and forth.
