Apple to the core

Biting at this apple
to the core,
my teeth get all shaggy
because the apple
is too soft.
There are things in this apple
that I can't see.
Or taste.
They are called flavonoids, this charges up the blood and
brings on the antioxidants, I have read.
Anti-anything, I will be there.
I want to brush my teeth first, though.
