Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

All the Songs

Amrita Gupta

All the songs on my playlist
The ones that used to cheer me up
Now just bring in clouds of melancholy
I can’t get you out of my mind
I can’t think of anything else
The sounds are bitter and stale
“Delirious”, “Viva la Vida”, “A Kiss as Long as Eternity”
They all sound alien to me
Unfamiliar
I don’t recognize what once made me happy
Because now you’re the norm
You’re the sunlight shining in my window
When I first wake up
The starlight reflected in my eyes
Right before I fall asleep
And everything in between
You invade my dreams, stealing my sanity
You make me laugh, make me cry
Out loud, when I should be sleeping
No one wonders
No one knows
But I wonder, how long will this go on?
I can’t even hear my songs anymore
As soon as they’re over I forget they existed
Until one comes that recognizes me
It tells me everything I need to know
The music acknowledges how I feel
Only one that can help me through
“Mad About You”
