Adore'd Soul
Meagan Bee
Screaming out into the silent void,
Dark air swallows my words.
Tears coat my face like celluloid.
Phone rings chords
Piercing pop music proliferates peace.
Furrow into a blanket of fleece.
I loved you as the summer rain,
Cooling the sunburn pain.
Alas, you loved like an August storm,
Over before the raindrops can form.
Addicted to you like squirrels to corn;
Not to mention adolescent boys and porn.
Gone, your absence breeds sorrow.
If only we had another happy moment to borrow.
Now I hate you. Horrible Lover,
Throw pitchey tarps your memory I cover.
Packed your bags and ran away,
Whatever, sex wasn’t that great anyway.
Final insults thrown through heated air,
So angry I can pull out my hair
Without feeling the lightening pain flash
through my scalp, unabash
Snarl’d screams.
Once, you were sweet as creams.
