Very Bad Poetry

Welcome to the last refuge for the world's worst poetry.

It's difficult to understand how, in this age of information, poems that merely miss the mark can be tossed into the cold world to fend for themselves, only to whither and be forgotten.

Please help us to help them to help us.

A Honky in a honky tonk

David LaPierre

I'm a honky in a honky tonk,
A hockey-playing honk.
I look so much like a white boy,
I'm so honky I could honk.

I say "man" a lot because I think
That's the way that black folks talk.
They think I got honky-stink,
And my face looks like a hawk.

I'm just trying to have a good time,
Trying to get some honky traction.
Don't my homies in this place
Believe in affirmative action?

Maybe it's because I like the girls,
All brown sugar and hot.
Or maybe it is just because
My honky nose is dripping snot.

I like it here, I really do.
I'm not looking for a fight.
I'm just a honky in a honky tonk
Who walks with his butt real tight.
